THE WIZARD OF OZ
Bellevue, WA July 14, 2008
– The Attic Theatre presents The Wizard of Oz at Meydenbauer Theatre, September 12th –
28th, 2008. At a time in this country
where young people feel misunderstood, where in the workplace you don’t feel
appreciated, you don’t feel like you can think for yourself, you don’t have
the nerve to speak out and you have become disheartened. Where you can’t
understand the rising cost of gas and when all you want to do is escape from
home and take an extended vacation to a place beyond the gray and gloomy
skies and the rain, where you don’t feel abandoned by friends and family and
all you dream about really can come true. Is there really such a place? “When all the world is a
hopeless jumble and the raindrops tumble all around, when all the clouds
darken up the skyway, there’s a rainbow highway to be found, leading from
your window pane to a place behind the sun, just a step beyond the rain,
somewhere over the rainbow”, and that is where you can escape for a few
hours this September at Meydenbauer Theater in downtown Bellevue. The Attic Theatre puts its own spin on the timeless classic of L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz. This magical tale of Dorothy's adventures in the Land of Oz comes to life as The Attic Theatre presents the RSC version of this timeless musical. Faithful to the classic film, this production is sure to delight and enchant audiences of all ages.
